I love Linda and Emmylou's version of this song because it is the first I had heard, then, I checked out Jackson's and found it to be very compelling. It's a great song that has so much for everyone.

What's the "fate" line in this version? I can't quite get it, but I love the version. It seems so deeply personal to Jackson, and yet these ladies more than do it justice. (I ought to have known, considering it's Emmylou, but this song is as near as it gets to sacred to me, so I'm protective over it.)

My eyes aren't that good anymore but to my eyes it looks like the 2 guitarists are GE Smith and Bernie Leadon. I am probably wrong though.
